Port Operation begins at APM Terminals’ Port of Kalundborg

In the month of Dec 2020, APM Terminals (APMT) got into an agreement with the Port of Kalundborg to start operations within Ny Vesthavn. Following this, APMT has begun operations at the port of Kalundborg with the launch of two Maersk-operated, weekly feeder services. These feeder services are offering connections to Asia and to the ports of Russia, the Baltics, Iceland and Faroe Islands, thereby linking the port with major shipping routes.

The port of Kalundborg is been viewed as an alternative to the more popular and busier port of Copenhagen and is expected to ease the congestion towards Copenhagen by taking the heavy trucks out. Moreover, the ocean journey is 12 hours shorter!

The terminal, located on an area of 50k sq. m, has an annual capacity of 50k TEU with a berth length of 500 m, a maximum draft of 15 m and 100 reefer plugs.

APMT Kalundborg has selected gas-to-liquids (GTL) fuel for its reach stackers and terminal tractors, thereby giving a boost for cleaner fuel solutions.
