Maersk Line has shared the significant improvements to their Safari service which will take effect almost immediately. The new Safari rotation will include an export call at Durban.
The new rotation is: Kobe – Nagoya – Yokohama – Ningbo – Shanghai – Hong Kong – Shekou – Tanjung Pelepas – Port Louis – Durban – Port Elizabeth – Durban – Tanjung Pelepas – Hong Kong – Shanghai – Kobe
This change will give Maersk Line greater flexibility on the import call into Durban with the aim of further improving their reliability as well as shortening their Port Elizabeth import transit time with approx. 4 days.
They do not expect any significant change to their Durban import transit time. On the export side, Maersk believes that this change will vastly improve their Durban export product and cut transit times by almost 7 days for most key Asian ports.
This product change will be effective from the vessel MAERSK SKARSTIND 1902 calling Shanghai 3rd of Jan and Durban 26th of Jan.
