New enhanced Transpacific Service – Far East Asia to/from North America

Maersk has announced that they will launch two new weekly services, the TPX and TP20 to help normalize the network for their contracted customers.

Transpacific West Coast service – TPX details:

  • Will include port calls in Yantian (China – ICT), Ningbo (China – J4), and Los Angeles (U.S. – APMT Pier 400).
  • Deployed vessels will primarily be in the 3,500 TEU segment.
  • Weekly frequency
  • Service will commence in August.

Transpacific East Coast service – TP20 details:

  • Will include port calls in Vung Tao (Vietnam – Gemalink), Ningbo (China – J4), Shanghai (China – Yangshan), Norfolk (U.S. – VIG), and Baltimore (U.S. – Seagirt).
  • Deployed vessels will primarily be in the 4,500 TEU segment.
  • Weekly frequency.
  • Service will commence in August.

The introduction of the TPX and TP20 is expected to not cause any changes to their existing network. Further details on rotation, deployment, and exact start dates will be shared by Maersk, in due course.

The commencement of the service will also be subject to all applicable regulatory compliance requirements.
