Maersk has announced the launch of a new weekly service – the TP23, which will replace the significant number of extra-loaders and ad-hoc routing solutions that were deployed in the past few months to tackle the increased cargo demands during the ongoing global pandemic.
The new Transpacific East Coast (TP23) service will include port calls in Vietnam and Yantian with a Panama Canal transit and direct connections to Savannah, Charleston, and Newark in the US. Both transit times and reliability are expected to be market-leading. The service is expected to start in early May from Asia.
Further details on rotations, deployment, and exact start dates will be shared in due course.
