Hapag-Lloyd temporarily suspends New Bookings from Europe and Med to West Africa

As per Hapag-Lloyd, the accumulated operational constraints on West African services are heavily affecting connections of cargo from North Europe and the Mediterranean. This is leading to challenging transhipment operations and congestion in Tangier as well as in their main hubs in North Europe.

Hapag-Lloyd has therefore announced the temporary suspension of booking new cargo from North Europe and the Mediterranean (including North Africa) to West Africa, including Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Senegal, Mauritania and Benin, with immediate effect and until further notice.

They are working on easing up the situation and hope to reinstate acceptance as soon as possible, which will be announced accordingly.
