EVERGREEN Increases Capacity of APG and FRS Service

EVERGREEN will increase the capacity of two Far East to Middle East services, APG and FRS, by replacing vessels in the APG service with new buildings and shifting the replaced vessels to the FRS service.

The capacity of the APG service will be increased from an average of 6,500 TEU per week, as of December, to 8,800 TEU per week by April 2014. The capacity increase is due to the replacement of 6 vessels by 3 new buildings and 3 existing vessels. The specific entry dates of the new vessels can be seen in the table on the right. The rotation time of 49 days and the weekly frequency of the service stay untouched.

On the FRS service, operated by EVERGREEN and COSCO (FRX), there will be a replacement of 4 5,300 TEU vessels by 4 7,000 TEU vessel that were previously employed on the APG service. Thereby, the average capacity will be increased from 5,300 TEU in December to 6,200 TEU by end of March. The entry dates can be seen in the table on the right. The rotation time of 56 days and the weekly frequency stay untouched.
