Customers in Panjang, Indonesia can now ship to North Asia directly, through Sealand Asia’s newly launched Intra-Asia 1 (IA1) service.
With new direct services from Panjang, Indonesia, Sealand Asia’s IA1 leads the market in connecting the region to North East Asia, reinforcing the company’s commitment to enabling new trade opportunities for businesses located in Lampung, Panjang and Palembang.
“Sealand has grown together with the port of Panjang since we first entered the market in 2009 (then still known as MCC). We believe that our new upgraded IA1 service that connects Panjang directly to China, South Korea and Russia will provide customers a new level of connectivity and will support international trade not only for the Lampung province, but also the southern part of Sumatra,“ says Joshua Ng, Country Manager of Sealand – A Maersk Company Indonesia
The new IA1 service has the largest vessels that call Panjang port and is the only service that directly serves routes from Panjang to Kaohsiung (Taiwan), Busan (Korea), and Shanghai (China). Likewise, the IA1 is able to carry more exports from Lampung, Panjang and Palembang area through an approximately 167% increase in vessel space and 46% increase in reefer capacity and up to 69% reduction in transit time to certain destinations.

The IA1 service first sailed from Panjang in 12TH March 2019, and calls Panjang every week on Monday.
