Tropical Storm Elsa bashes parts of the Southeastern United States

Weakened but resilient Tropical Storm Elsa has weakened to 40 mph as it made its way to Southern Carolina earlier on Thursday. According to the Coastal forecaster in South Carolina, the weather conditions could be among the worst with 5 inches of rain and wind speed of up to 55 mph in Hilton Head Island, Charleston, and Myrtle Beach.

Port authorities had already stopped operations across Florida in the wake of the storm. Looking at the present storm conditions, there is a possibility of operations across ports on the Eastern Coast like Charleston and Savannah to be on hold until the storm has passed.
