MSC TINA delayed after pier incident at Ambarli

MSC TINA (IMO: 9762340) has reportedly suffered severe damage to its hull after it collided with a pier at the port of Ambarli in Turkey on Saturday, March 27. The 19,224 TEU containership sustained a large gash while trying to berth at the port and subsequently causing significant damage to the pier as well.

The ship was moved to anchorage without berthing and as per the last received position, is still in Ambarli.

Following the Suez Canal blockage incident that caused quite a few MSC ships to get delayed, rerouted or cancelled voyages, this incident is seen as another setback for the carrier.
