MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company and 2M partner Maersk Line announce a new strategic cooperation with ZIM on Asia-US West Coast (USWC) and Asia-Mediterranean trades.

MSC, Maersk Line and ZIM will run the operation on the Maple service with seven vessels between Asia and the USWC. The 2M VSA will contribute three vessels and ZIM will operate four vessels. The parties will swap slots on Orient service which remains a fully 2M operated service. There will be no changes to the schedules of MSC’s Maple and Orient services.

Between Asia and the Mediterranean, MSC and Maersk Line will allocate some slots to ZIM on Phoenix and Tiger. Rotations will remain the same as per the announcement of new 2M East-West Network published in December 2018.

The new arrangements will enhance MSC’s products across these regions and offer competitive and reliable schedules to our customers.

The service changes are expected to start in March 2019, subject to regulatory approval.
